| Hello fellow and future gardeners, We are Ana Newell and Stephanie Hooper, owners of The Garden Lady. We’re a small, women-owned business based in Mansfield, MA, where we both reside. We have a combined garden design and installation experience of over 25 years. Our goal as The Garden Ladies is to collaborate with our clients integrating their visions and our experience to create not just beautiful gardens but enjoyable outdoor spaces. Ana Newell founded The Garden Lady in 2002, taking the leap to start her own small business after 18 years as an accountant. While Ana has always had a love for flowers and flora, she began gardening in 1992 with a goal of improving the curb appeal of her family’s home. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, with Ana self-educating by regularly attending seminars and lectures, visiting garden centers and arboretums and doing extensive reading on the subject. In 1998, she began courses in landscape design, plant identification and stone wall construction at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Harvard Landscape Institute. Today, she continues her education in the off-season by taking courses that continue to help her bring fresh ideas and concepts to her clients’ gardens. Ana Newell and Stephanie Hooper met at the Mansfield Garden Club and the rest is history. Stephanie graduated from Keene State College with a degree in marketing and communications, but garden design has always been her passion. Prior to joining The Garden Lady in 2017, Stephanie worked as a Marketing Coordinator for an engineering firm out of Boston, but her love for gardening and the outdoors made her want to venture elsewhere and start working along side Ana. Stephanie’s role with The Garden Lady has expanded over the last five years. While she started by managing The Garden Lady’s crew, she and Ana are now partners in all aspects of the business. With their collective knowledge and love for garden design and installation, they make clients’ landscaping dreams come true. |
