Perennial Favorites


HostaHosta ‘Patriot’
Thrives in full shade. Leaves have a dark green center with wide white margins. Considered a medium size Hosta, growing to 18” tall and producing a stalked lavender flower in July. Provides interest from May to October. Very low maintenance. 1997 Hosta of the year. Zone 5-9

AstilbeAstilbe ‘Peach Blossom’
Plant in part to full shade. Dark green leaves with airy plumes of salmon pink. Grows 20-24” in height and blooms during June and July. Provides great color in the shade garden and interest the entire growing season. Attracts butterflies. Very low maintenance. Zone 4-9

pennisetumOrnamental Grass ‘Pennisetum Hameln’
Plant in full sun. It is considered a medium size grass, growing to 2-3’ tall and blooming in early July. The tassels are rosy and turn copper. It is a compact mound grower and not invasive. Provides movement to any planting bed. One of my favorites for its hardiness and its airiness. Beautiful for winter interest. Zone 5-9

heucheraHeuchera ‘Palace Purple’
Tolerates part sun to part shade. Beautiful purple leaves and stems with white showy flowers in June. Grows 18-24” tall. Great for any border. 1991 Perennial plant of the Year. Zone 5-8



Joe Pye WeedEupatorium ‘Joe Pye Weed’
Prefers full to partial sun. Little Joe pictured here is one of the smallest Eupatorium growing to 4’ tall. Other Eupatoriums can grow to 10’ tall. Perfect for the back of any planting bed. Its foliage provides a beautiful screen for colorful perennials. Its dome shaped head of small mauve flowers appear in late July to August. Butterflies love this perennial. Zone 4-8


blackEyedSusanRudbeckia Goldstrum ‘Black Eye Susan’
Loves the sun. Drought tolerant. Long bloom period from July to Sept. Black-eyed Susans are a favorite of butterflies and birds and are a great choice for backyard wildlife habitat. Very low maintenance. Zone 3-9

salviaSalvia ‘May Night’
Full sun. Go to any garden I have installed and you will find my favorite perennial. The color is outstanding. Deep indigo blue flowers from late spring until frost. One of the best plants for blue color in mass plantings, rock gardens or in containers. Fragrant plant reaching 20" in both height and width. Low Maintenance. Butterflies agree, they visit this perennial daily. Zone 3-9



stelladoroHemerocallis ‘Stella D’Oro’
Lily-like, golden yellow blooms are produced all summer; the longest blooming daylily available. Grows to
18-24" tall with a mature spread of the same size. Full sun to partial shade. Drought tolerant and very low maintenance. Zone 3-9

sedumSedum ‘Autumn Joy’
Needs full sun, dry soil and very little water. An easy-to-grow plant that not only tolerates drought, but seems to thrive in it. It provides interest from May to November. Bold clusters of closely packed, rosy pink flowers appear in late summer, age to a salmon bronze and finish with a deep coppery red in fall. Grows up to 18” tall and 24” wide. Low maintenance. Zone 3-9
